Virtual Backpack is a place for Morton 709 families to receive flyers and other information from the district, schools, and community organizations. 


How do I submit a flyer? 
All flyers must have approval. To get the flyer approved, please bring a hard copy of the flyer to Carolu Kizer at the district office, located at 1050 S. Fourth Ave. Morton, IL.

Grundy School Record Release

The Grundy School Record Release grants permission to release Grundy records or secure records from another school or agency.

Limited Excuse Form

A limited excused absence refers to a special category of absences that are limited in number and require approval by the principal. Examples of limited excused absences include:
-Pre-approved vacations with parents
-Court appearances

Limited excused absences must be prearranged at least 5 school days before the first day of absence, by completing and returning a prearranged absence form available in the school office or online. A maximum of 5 days of limited excused absences will be granted per student per year. Any limited excused absences over 5 days will be considered unexcused. Requirements for completing missed assignments must be prearranged with the teacher.

School Medication Authorization Form

All medications to be administered during school hours are to be kept in the office in the original container. A medication authorization form, which details the administration of the medications, must be signed by a parent. The required form is filed in the office. An asthma inhaler, which can be kept in a student's or teacher's possession, is the only exception, as indicated by the required medication authorization.

Morton Bike Rodeo

What: 2021 Morton Bicycle Rodeo
When: Saturday, May 1st from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Who: Kindergarten through 6th grade students may participate
Where: Parking lot across from Jefferson School

The kids will be able to compete for prizes in the following groups: 1st/2nd grades, 3rd/4th grades, and 5th/6th grades. Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers in each division including a brand new bicycle from Walmart for the first place winners!
