PTO Information

Ward Grundy Elementary PTO's mission is to support the education of the children at Ward Grundy Elementary by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers.  Every Grundy parent is automatically a PTO member.  In order to be successful in our mission, we need parent involvement.  There are numerous opportunities at Grundy for parents to show their support.

Grundy PTO Activities 2022-23

After School Clubs: Volunteer instructors provide a variety of classes after school. In
past years, classes have included chess, arts/crafts, sports, sewing, lego, games and
other fun and educational activities.

Artistic Adventures: Volunteers are needed to teach an art lesson to their child’s class.
All lessons have been prepared for the volunteers and all supplies are provided by the
PTO. Each lesson takes approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour to teach.

Book Fair: Volunteers are needed to staff the book fair held in the Spring. Volunteers
assist during school hours and after school hours during the book fair.
Carnival: The carnival is the PTO’s largest event of the year. Volunteers are needed to
assist with classroom games, ticket sales, cake walk items, prize redemption, kitchen
help, and basket raffle.

Classroom Parties: Parents are needed to assist with classroom parties for Halloween,
Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter and the teacher’s birthday. Each head room parent
will send out a sign up genius to the class parents asking for needed party items.

Fannie May Fundraiser: The PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year! Students and their
families are needed to help distribute prizes and candy as part of our major fundraiser.
Volunteers are also needed to help organize the chocolate boxes and count money.

Grundy Giving: A great way to donate to the PTO without spending any extra money!!
Sign up with Kroger, Casey’s, and box tops rewards programs and direct the donation to
the PTO.

PTO Bulletin Board: The Bulletin Board at the entrance is a great place to check out
what exciting events the PTO is coordinating each month.

Teacher Appreciation: The PTO provides monthly appreciation meals for the Grundy
staff. Volunteers are needed to provide food, assist with set up/cleanup of monthly
teacher appreciation meals for the Grundy staff. In addition, volunteers assist with
various ways of showing our gratitude during teacher appreciation week in May.
