We welcome you to our second grade classrooms! At Grundy School we offer two second grade options. One is a traditional one-year second grade class offered by Ms. Pfahl. The other is the second year of the looping program offered by Mrs. Weyhrich and Mrs. Elliott.
This year we will foster a love of reading. We will become fluent readers, chart our stories, and continue to develop our comprehension skills. We will learn to write 3 well-written paragraphs and develop good sentence structure. We will also learn cursive handwriting and write in our journals daily.
In math we will continue to practice our addition and subtraction facts. We will add two and three digits and subtract them as well. We will learn how to tell time and how to count money. We will develop problem-solving strategies and become better problem solvers.
